Installing an EV charger means adding a dedicated circuit, and that requires an electrical network notification and an inspection everywhere in the Illawarra. This is not optional, and unpermitted electrical work can create problems when you sell or make a claim.
Who issues it depends on your town
The the Illawarra spans three counties and several towns with their own inspection departments. Wollongong, Figtree, Dapto, Shellharbour, Dapto, Figtree and Wollongong each run their own process within Wollongong City. Shellharbour goes through the City of Shellharbour. Thirroul goes through Orange County and the town.
